Edward was born in the Netherlands (1973). He lives in Belgium with his wife and two of their children.

The autodidact first began taking pictures after the tragic death of his baby son Klaas in 2003; ‘I had to start looking at things with new eyes, he taught me to see because I needed to deal with my grief.’

Now photography mainly provides a creative counterbalance in his life and is a great excuse to connect with others.

The aim of his photography is not to judge people or to tell a truth, but to know life; ‘The greatest gift I have received through my work is the connection with the people I have met.’

Edward has a darkroom which he uses to develop and print black and white negative film.
For color he uses a digital workflow.
